I am embarrassed that I lost thousands of dollars to such an unethical and dishonest group. I have reached out to the owner, Ms. Elle Nesher, on several occasions, at an attempt to resolve our many disputes, but she has refused to even admit to the most obvious of wrong-doings. Because Element did not provide us with an adequate Bill of Lading, we are facing the probability that our lost and damaged goods (totaling over $4,000) will not be covered under our separately-purchased insurance policy. Elle informed us before delivery that the driver would probably be unable to fit his truck on our very narrow street, but that every effort would be made to ensure full delivery of our goods. They told us it would be an additional $1,700 to transport our goods via shuttle service. Our move contract stated clearly that Element would deliver our furniture up to 100 feet from the truck to our home at NO additional cost to us, so we declined the shuttle service, assuming that the distance from the truck to our home was still 100 feet or less, even with the truck not being able to turn onto our street. It was. However, the driver stated that he had received instructions from Elle Nesher to dump our belongings right outside of the truck, which happened to be in the middle of an intersection, rather than walk them the 98 feet to our home. He saw that the only people we had to help us get our belongings out of the middle of the road were myself, my husband and our four-year-old daughter. He and his crew sat and watched with smiling faces as my husband tried to carry the goods himself, just far enough to get them out of the intersection. They flat out refused to move one box any further than a single inch past the door to the truck. My daughter and I had to go hire day laborers to help my husband so our goods wouldn't be destroyed by oncoming traffic. We had just moved across the country and did not know a single soul in a two hundred mile radius. Let back up a bit. Despite repeated and continued pleas for Element to provide us with a firm move-in date and at least one week's notice to make the drive from Dallas to Connecticut with our four-year-old daughter, we were not given a firm date until all of our belongings were already at our destination. We were given 48 hours to make the drive and given no alternative ship dates. We were told that if we were not at our new home within this 48 hours, our goods would be placed in a storage unit at our expense. We would also be responsible for the re-loading and placement of furniture in our new home. Also, our insurance policy would be voided and we wouldn't be allowed to make any claims for missing or damaged goods. We made it on time. The driver was four hours late. He and his crew also refused to let us fully inspect our goods upon receipt. This also resulted in a voidance of any damage claims we would make. At delivery , there were many broken and damaged contents, including our kitchen table, our gas grill and my husband's Ducati motorcycle. We also were missing our entire china collection. In place of the china we received another client's box of dish towels and a Keurig coffee maker. Element has no idea where our missing china is, and we are praying that our insurance policy will cover the loss. But we are doubtful because the notation was not made upon delivery. We did check inventory numbers and they matched with our list. The contents, however, belonged to another client. If you do one thing correctly when planning your next move, do not use Element Moving and Storage. You would be wiser to take the $7,500 they charge for a cross country move and flushing it down the toilet. And in the long run, you'll save thousands of dollars by doing this. Pros: null Cons: null
