Review content:
I have used the Service Experts twice and both times I was overcharged. I thought I had no choice because the house they were doing work on is rented out (I'm a landlord) and I'm out of town. They were quick and got the job done, but I could not afford what they wanted to charge me the third time I called for a repair. First off, they charged almost $100 to do the estimate, which would be understandable except that after I waited a few days then called back to ask more about the project they wanted to send someone back out to look at the broken HVAC again and charge another $100 bucks! Also, they gave me a quote of about $5,000 to repair an upstairs HVAC in the house, and because I couldn't afford that I started checking out my other options. Then I found out a friend could give me a working A/C unit for free and I asked the Service Experts people if they would install it. The woman on the phone assured me they would, but said it probably wasn't a great idea since they wouldn't be sure it was the right fit for my house. I checked the units and the match was very close, and when I called back to have them install it a mechanic got on the phone and barked at me that he wouldn't do such a job and he doesn't know of any licensed repairman that would (because of liability). When I told him a woman from his company had told me this was a feasible option he made a misogynistic comment about how the girls that work there aren't mechanics and have no clue what they are talking about half the time. And finally, you should be advised that if they have your phone number they will call you at random times long after the work has been done to tell you when your HVAC needs to be checked up on (and I'm sure they will charge $100 just to come over and give it the check-up). Pros: quick Cons: high prices, obnoxious phone calls, unfriendly mechanics
