I ate at India's tonight for the first time in almost two decades. My father used to take me there when he was completing his residency at Ben Taub. As a child, I vividly remember enjoying the rice pudding, curry, and naan. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the food was equally satisfying to my adult palette. My friend and I enjoyed both chicken and lamb curries, as well as a delicious assortment of appetizers. The service was excellent, and the entire meal took less than 45 minutes from beginning to end. I especially enjoyed the naan, which was arguably the best I've ever had. The atmosphere was tasteful but not excessively formal. There were couples as well as families with children. The prices were entirely reasonable, even if my gin & tonic was weak (typically so for a restaurant). All in all, an excellent dining experience. Pros: Excellent food, ambience, reasonable prices. Cons: Somewhat weak mixed drinks.
