A fire is a very emotional, stressful and overwhelming event. It does happen quite often and without any warning.
When our home was struck by lightning, we were lost in what steps to take after the fire department left. It is almost too much to think about. You must remain level headed and select the best company to trust in restoring your home and taking care of your personal belongings.
Some insurance companies do not work 24/7, so you really are left in the dark in the steps to take next until your insurance adjuster contacts you. I believe that everyone should already have a plan of action should such an unfortunate event occur.
Blackmon Mooring Steamatic is a highly reputable company and has been in the business for many years. I think it is something like 50 yrs, but I am not positive. I have met several people who have used them for fire damage restoration, and I have had experience with this company doing other work on my home. They are on my to call list.
They offer 24 hour service in order to protect further damage to your home and belongings. They also send out highly trained disaster recover specialists to most fires before you even think about calling anyone. This is a wonderful service because it takes some of the stress away from you.
They have a great page on their web site showing the restoration steps they do after a fire. I am actually shocked that they can actually save some of the things they do after a fire.
