If you are thinking of getting anything more than a simple manicure, go elsewhere! I went here to get a trial run for my wedding nails and Sugar House was rated next highest after Frizzles, which I couldn't get into. The nail tech Nila was at first very friendly but she wanted to sell me acrylics. I wanted gel tips and told her so. I've had a hellish time with some of the UV nail polishes (Shellac, Gelish, etc) so I wanted her to be extra thorough. So I inspected everything she did and asked lots of questions. Well, apparently, she didn't like that because she started getting very short with me and going off and whispering to her co-workers, at which they would stop what they were doing and look at me. I know I was being picky, but DANG...it's my wedding and I've had a LOT of bad experiences with nail techs. So I wanted the white tips with a pink overlay (not so experienced that I knew what that was called!) but she gave me clear tips "bc you want them so long." Ok...then, glued the nails on and then proceeded to file down my nail bed, just like they do when they do acrylics...which is another reason I didn't want acrylics--I didn't want my nails ruined for the next six months. She was so zealous and careless filing my nail bed down, she actually hurt me--I swear, she almost put a hole in my nail bed with that file! Then, she put about 5 coats of OPI's Axxium gel on there. When I noticed the gel was not applied smoothly, she said "Oh, I can file them down and make them smooth." So she did. I had a conversation with the receptionist upon checking out, who had gel tips (she said they are called "pink and whites") and, interestingly she does NOT get her nails done there. And she said her nail tech did NOT file the nail down after the gel has cured. Also, my nails are all thick now, like acrylics which is precisely why I didn't WANT acrylics. I told the tech I wanted a french manicure--she painted the white tips on--no airbrush or anything. She didn't even bother to put a clear coat of gel over the white tips to make
