The Mexican-American-Latino Alliance (MALA) for Progress has a mission: to provide all immigrant and migrant communities with the education, tools, and resources to become self-sufficient, self-reliant, constructive and economic citizens in order to fulfill their American citizenship responsibilities. These will include learning the English language, paying taxes, voting, service in the armed forces, and the general protection of the American way of life, all without government assistance. The five tenets of the organization are: educational resources, self sufficiency, empowered citizenship, preservation of the American way of life, and without government assistance.
