When I moved to the area, I was so thrilled to find KYIS 98.9 FM on the radio! I was scanning through stations one morning on the way to a doctors appointment, and what I heard had me laughing so hard, I was sure the people in the cars around me thought I was nuts!!! Their morning show with Jack & Ron is the funniest thing I have ever heard! These two guys really make my day, as I listen to them every day during my commute! Not only are they hilarious, they do talk about the serious subjects as well, and when they get serious, you know to listen. They have even helped recover a stolen car after a listener called in!!!
The afternoon show is great too, with Phil, Drew and Casey... they are a ton of fun, and always offer great prize packs for their listeners. One thing I love, that always makes me laugh, is the stunts that their intern Newman is always pulling... going into public, making everyone laugh! They even do a segment now and then where they will write prizes on tape and stick them to various parts of Newman's body... when you call in, they rip that tape right off, to reveal the prize you have won! I rarely participate in the contests, but I'll tell you, I sure have a lot of fun listening to them!!!
The kind of music played on this station is mainly current hits, but they do offer variety, like on "Way Back Wednesday", where they play a lot of 80's music, which I love! They also take a lot of requests and are great about getting what you want to hear on the air.
I love music, but honestly, I listen to this station more for the fun!!! I love that I have something to look forward to on those morning commutes, when I am so exhausted, I can still have an awesome time!!!

Just wanted to make a brief addition here... for those of you who read about the drama with my youngest son's school and the police blowing off the child threatening to bring a knife to school... this is the radio station that aired my complaints! I called Jack and Ron, the morning dj's, and got on air talking to them about it! They are a great deal of fun, but also very helpful when it comes to serious matters!
