I moved to Somerville over a year ago and immediately looked for an auto repair shop to have some work done on my 1998 Toyota Camry. The rear brakes needed to be replaced, so Mike's did the work and charged me what I thought was a fair price. Unfortunately, I had to bring the car in TWICE within four months to have them completely replace the rear brakes again. TWICE. They didn't charge me for the additional repairs (thank goodness because it was obviously their faulty service that was the problem). During the second repair, I also had them do an oil change. Shortly after that, my car started leaking noticable amounts of oil. After taking my car to a Valvoline Instant Oil Change to see what the problem was, they explained that my filter had just been installed wrong during my last oil change. They quickly adjusted the filter and fixed my oil leak.
So my experience with Mike's auto is over $1,000 in repairs amounting to two very bad break replacements and a faulty oil change. Not to mention that Mike Sr actually told me he was going to "kill my car" because the brakes wouldn't work properly. Don't be fooled by their clean premises and father/son business, this auto repair shop isn't worth the trouble!!
