I bought an electric fence form Petco because after searching around for one that would be best for my dog I found one that I liked on the Petco website. My credit card was out in the car when I went to pay and noticed that the accept Pay Pal and just used that. As a few hours past I was thinking that it may have been a bit over price; mind you that I bought it on “sale” from petco. I started looking around the internet and noticed that for almost $150 less I could buy another 500’ of wire for the fence from Amazon.
At the point I decided to call Petco and cancel my order; I figured it would be no problem, this was my second mistake. Even though it was Saturday and even though it had only been a few hours that past I would not be able to cancel my order. Though upset I accepted it because I was clearly told that I would be able to go to the brick and mortar store and return it instead of mailing it back.
So after waiting for what felt like forever for my order to get to my house, mind you the Amazon order that I placed had come 6 days before, I brought it to the store unopened and was told that I can only bring it back for a gift certificate. Like I really need a $270 gift certificate to Petco holding up my money. The manager at the store though not actually able to help me was actually not too bad. It was the lady that I spoke to on the phone when I called Petco.com afterwards.
The lady was of no help and rather rude. Did nothing to help me and said they were not able to give me my money back unless I mail it to them. I said that I want my money today as I had already told them not to ship it to my house and that the return policy said nothing about not being able to return it if I used Pay Pal. We spoke for almost a half hour on the phone and she was nothing but rude.
When I was at the actual store I was told that I should see a return slip form them but when I asked the lady on the phone when I should get the slip she had no record of this.
