Great repairs - not just hiking boots 11/9/2006

I've had Rayleigh hiking boots rebottomed ($60) and thin rubber added to dress shoes as well as reheeled. New rubber heel bottoms were about $15-20, can't remember exactly. Pricey, compared to where my mom takes her shoes to be repaird, but the work is good and for the extra mileage I get out of good shoes, it's totally worth it. The older fellow, whom I'm guessing is Dave Page, was a bit short on words, so I guess that's not particularly welcoming. But apparently people send in hiking boots from all over the country to be redone. more
