West Florida Teen Challenge (aka Gateway Military Academy) did what multiple schools, youth groups, hospitals, doctors, medicine and other facilities could not do for our son. Although we loved him dearly, he was one of the most rebellious teens you've ever met, always blaming others. He used his charm to manipulate teachers, families, even friends. TC succeeded in making him accountable for his words and actions. They provided a level of consistency that we never could have achieved as a functioning family with his brothers activities to consider. The separation wasn't easy on any of us. I hated having my son so far away for over a year, but we were encouraged each month when we could see significant improvement. He began taking responsibility. He apologized for past behavior. Now he consistently tells the truth. I love that he's regained his sense of humor. We enjoy his company again. Finally, his character has caught up with his abilities. My husband and I highly recommend West Florida Teen challenge.
