Lake Fairfax park is open all year round. This is where they usually stage any fireworks display in this area. I went to this huge park this July 4th for the fireworks display show and it was awesome. This is mainly a camping spot with 136 camp sites. The other attraction here is the Water Mine Family Swimmin' Hole that is mainly designed for kids. But I always see a huge family crowd here. It has slides, flume rides, a mountain with mine shafts and tunnels, Rattlesnake River etc. There is a huge lake here with boat rentals. But this year(2005) there wouldn't be any rentals due to some renovation work. You can also go fishing here.
