Jack Frost, Big Boulder Ski Area 1/9/2007

Winter has taken a long time to get to the Pocono Mountains this winter. The temperatures have been in the 50's and 60's since the beginning of December. This has greatly affected the ski resorts, Jack Frost and Big Boulder. They have made snow several times when the temperature at night has been below 35 and the forecast deems that the weather will be cold for a while. Lately the only ski runs that have been opened at Jack Frost have been the beginners and intermediate runs. The weather has been looking up this week, they have been making snow and there have also been predictions for snow fall this week. If you like winter sports like skiing and snow tubing, Jack Frost and Big Boulder have it all. Jack Frost has 150 SMI Fan to make snow on the 23 trails. Gunhttp://www.jfbb.com/winter-jf-trail-maps.aspxs Big Boulder has 19 trails, http://www.jfbb.com/winter-bb-trail-maps.aspx and also utilizes SMI Fans to make snow. Tubing has not opened yet this year due to the warm weather, but you can bet that once the temperatures fall there will be lines waiting to grab a tube and go for a spin down the dedicated trails for tubers. You can keep up with all the latest snow fall, snow making, open trails and events at their website. http://www.jfbb.com/home.asp more
