We've all had mediocre Italian food and I won't get into what passes for Italian at The Olive Garden but La Rustica is only second fiddle to Volterra for best in the city. Add in the romantic walks on Alki, the quieter/quainter ambiance and very friendly, though sometimes slow, wait staff and you have one serious contender. Great wine list, variety and break sticks you may give up your sigincant other for. Warm weather is the best time to go since there is minimal waiting area and the cramped restaurant can easily get chilled with everyone's coming and going.
