Sushi for the trendy... 5/17/2006

I don't know if it's the neighborhood, but both times I've been here, the clientèle was trendy, young and hip. While that usually doesn't bode that well for a restaurant, I guess that's the exception here. Having taken my wife here for our anniversary here, we had a wonderful time with the omakase. While some of the dishes were not as good as expected such as the ceviche which was dominated by the acid. Others were delightful and fun. The items in the omakase definitely weren't as delicate tasting as I'm used to from Japanese food and sushi. The service is wonderful here, especially if you get the omakase and they offered wonderful complimentary glasses of plum wine for celebrating our anniversary there. Definitely in the upper echelon of sushi places in D.C. more
