Stay at home and watch a DVD 4/7/2006

The Metro cinema has definitely seen better days. And it doesn't seem to me that management is getting the impression that those great days are offer; they still let the theater continue on it's path of slow decay. The screening rooms are outdated-- small screens, small seats. The movie selection is great, in my opinion, but only if you want to catch the newest foreign film, not a big-screen blockbuster relying on visuals and sound quality (both of which the Metro does not have). What gets me the most is the price! Tickets will put you back a good ten bucks and there is no free parking! The neighborhood is littered with "Zone 3 Only" parking to keep theater patrons out. They do offer validation at the theater, but you still have to throw in a buck and definitely cannot catch dinner across the street afterwards without moving your car. Do yourself a favor and just drive a few more blocks to the Guild 45th, Neptune, or even Oak Tree on Aurora. more
