I discovered this place many years ago. There is a long path that winds down the long stretch of this park. It is used for walking, running or biking. The path paralells a section of the Chicago river that stretches thru Skokie. This is where you find many avant-garde sculptures. The other words you may use are they are pieces of contemporary art or that they are the artists statement(s) on society. Not for everyone. Certainly worth seeing at least once. If you don't care for the sculptures you can still get in some great walking or just enjoy the park.
