a good GM dealership 4/4/2006

I've been a customer at both Proctor Honda and Proctor GM over the years. Honestly, this is one of the better-run dealerships in town. The sales staff is very knowledgeable about the cars on lot, as well as other cars in the line. The sales tactics are rarely what I would consider too aggressive (even the on-lot approach is more laid back than other dealerships) and the prices are generally the same as other fringe dealerships (Quincy and Thomasville). I've had nothing but good experiences with the dealership's service department, who promptly and professionally handled a factory recall and a few small warranty repairs. I always got the same treatment as a paying customer (maybe excluding the full detailing - altough they did vaccum my car and use floor mats). As with any in-dealer service department, the prices are higher than local mechanics, but the extended warranty of GM approved parts is sometimes worth the extra expense (alternators for lower-end GM cars are notorious for constant need of replacement, so I usually pay extra for the replacement to have it fully covered by warranty). more
