We have attended a couple of events at Champoeg and been very impressed. The park is far enough from the city area to feel very rural, but close enough to make the drive easy. The amphitheatre provides a gorgeous setting tucked into the country landscape. There is also a site that is excellent for an outdoor wedding. With an old historic building and a covered picnic area, set inside a horde of old trees, the area is pristine and rustic.
While we have personally never tried it, there are a variety of campsites and hiking trails there also.
