Rob Garcia was born in Los Angeles Ca. but grew up in Hawaii where he was an amateur boxer. Garcia made his way back to California and graduated from San Diego State in 1997 with a degree in exercise science. Garcia soon started studying under legendary strength and conditioning expert Paul Chek, and soon after became the youngest couch ever for the U.S. boxing team.
Garcia is most known for training Mexican boxing Legend Oscar De La Hoya as his head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Garcia worked along with the likes of Freddie Roach, Floyd Mayweather Sr. to name a few.
