All libraries are magical places -- and have many magical books! Some libraries are old, some are modern-- but the layout of the Flushing Branch of the QBPL is unique. There is much space in the rooms -- they're not all filled up with books and tables & chairs. There is empty space in this library...allowing, (I think) room for the ideas in all the books to "vibrate", creating a wonderful atmosphere! The rooms are airy & light, with big windows. Not too modern, not too old....just right! Books do make the library -- but so does the architecture. Inside & out, the Fresh Meadows branch of the QBPL feels like an eternal Spring, in fairyland!
