the Houston Zoo is overall a great place. they have many additional activities in addition to the zoo. There is a paddle boat place right in the front of the entrance as well as a cho-cho train for the kids with like fair prizes. The summers are hard to go to the zoo because of the heat and the animals all hide inside their cages. But the zoo also allows pedestrian's to bring in food for picnics so it is a great place for a family to go and spend a day! The food and drinks are very expensive there but the entrance fee is reasonable. At Christmas they even do a Christmas light show.
