Lost our first Yorkie when he was a year old at a different vet because of what they used to put him under to get him neutered (he had a severe allergic reaction and died two hours later). We were totally devastated. It took me 12 years just to talk my husband into getting one.
Got a girl Yorkie two weeks later that had the same mom as my boy Yorkie. We were terribly scared to get her spayed and waited until she was two. Had a friend who uses Briarcliff Animal Hospital and decided to go with them because they actually had someone who would watch her overnight.
Met with Dr. South who does laparoscopic surgery, and she was so wonderful! She took time to answer all of our questions and didn't rush us at all. She made us feel confident about the surgery. I sat in the waiting area during the surgery. They kept me up to date, and Dr. South came out after surgery to tell me how well it went. I went to work and actually picked her up that night to take her home!!! It was more expensive but was so worth it. :))) Would do it all over again if I had to. I will continue to see them even though it is a drive for me.
