have been going to La Belle Town and Country for more than 10 years (and reluctantly went to The Stanford Center spa when T&C was closed for 2 years). I have had very good facials, manicures, pedicures, and massages. But what keeps me coming back is Donald, a massage therapist extraordinaire. I have been going to Donald since way before Yelp existed, and I have referred many of my friends and relatives to him by word of mouth. But since so many people use Yelp these days, I decided to put my recommendation on the web.
The minute Donald puts his hands on you, you know you can have absolute trust in him. He is extremely perceptive about your body's (and your) response to his touch. He is also amazingly respectful. For any woman who is uncomfortable about having a male massage therapist (and I was one of them too), Donald will completely put you at ease. His hands are magic, and he has a very spiritual philosophy about the body. He works at both the Town and Country and the Stanford Center LaBelle spas.
I have found no comparable massage therapist in the bay area.
