As much as Ithaca can be said to have a "downtown", the Cinemapolis is the only movie theater located in The Commons. There are two screens. Run by the non-profit 7th Art Corporation, Cinemapolis specializes in independent and non-mainstream films, often showing those art/foreign/avant garde films once can't find elsewhere. For instance, Cinemapolis was the only theater around here for miles that was willing to screen Fahrenheit 9/11. They also have excellent popcorn!
