Our second son was born just 50 minutes after arriving at Nyack Hospital. We delivered there b/c our midwives switched hospitals from Bon Secours in Port Jervis. It was about an hour drive down the thruway from Middletown, and in retrospect we may have received better care if we had delivered in the car. We were in what appeared to be the only non-private room, when beds appeared to be available. I was not allowed to stay with my wife overnight. The nurses were rude to our hispanic roomates and treated them very poorly. The nurses were also beligerent when I wanted to acompany our newborn son in the nursery. Our midwives were THE BEST! the hospital THE WORST! Never again.
