Southern cooking in a beautiful setting 8/20/2005

Caro-Mi is located in the Pacolet Valley on Hwy 176 between Tryon and Saluda. Entrance to the grounds of the restaurant is over a wooden bridge. The Pacolet River runs swiftly below the bridge. It is a treat to stand on the restaurant's veranda to listen to this river, the birds and the quiet of the country. The restaurant is in an older wooden building, adding to its charm. Food is in the southern tradition, with ham, pan fried trout, fried spring chicken and sauteed chicken livers as specialities of the house. You have a choice of sides. Open Wednesday - Saturday at 5 p.m. Call for reservations. more
