I first went to the Carnegie Library in Oakland when it was under renovation and found it completely irritating. There were whole sections of books that were just unavailable (usually the sections I wanted) and books kept moving around. Now that it's done, the first floor is quite nice but the upper floors are still confusing to navigate. Also, they frequently don't have books that I want. Their audiobook collection is particularly disappointing. Most of the good audiobooks are in their children's section. I also dislike having to get a new library card every year (I know that's not their fault) and having to enter your library card in order to look things up on the electronic card catalog in the library.
