It has always been a treat to go to Phil Smidt's even though it's only like a 2 block walk for me. Everything tastes great; the salads, the soup, the fish, and the dessert. Frog legs are the specialty, but my favorite has always been the lake perch. They just taste great! Other fish dishes are great also, and chicken is also available for those who do not like fish. They have cinnamon flavored ice cream that is just so delicious. It is located within walking distance of the Hammond Marina and is a favorite stop of most of the boaters that come in.
