New and Improved Piano Island Tuning, and Yale Piano. 6/17/2012

Piano Island Tuning/Yale Piano is still my favorite piano shop. They've added Connecticut's most well-known, experienced, and professional piano tuner/technician, Harold R. Peters. Debra Mason, Frank Pascale, and owner Tom Dans continue to perform piano tunings, piano repairs, and piano evaluations. The piano tuning price has certainly gone up from the old days, when it was just $65 to tune a piano. A piano tuning now costs $100-$140 within CT, depending on who performs the piano tuning and how much travel time there is. But it's still well worth the price for truly master-level piano technicians, and they are competitively priced with all other piano tuners. Charges for written piano evaluations and estimates of a piano's worth cost $50. Their only drawback is that emergency piano tunings that are requested within 7 [seven] days of the tuning can be expensive, so be sure to schedule your tuning early! Emergency piano tunings are $200 for individuals and religious organizations. Emergency piano tunings are $500 for all institutions, including hotels, concert halls, club venues, performance spaces, assisted living institutions, and all schools. Try to avoid same day and next day emergency piano tunings, which are $1,000 for all clients, and must be paid in advance of the piano tuning. They have some very good and reasonably priced pianos for sale, including acoustic pianos and electronic pianos, and delivery is free. They now carry an amazing new micro-piano that can teach anyone to play piano, with very few piano lessons. And their piano lessons are very reasonably priced. The teachers are patient and friendly, and they allow all students to learn at their own comfortable pace. And they will answer any and all of your questions on the phone at no charge, unlike some upscale piano shops. I would just call them first and not bother wasting time with scammers who tune just a few notes that are obviously out of tune, and then call it a tuning and charge full price. If you want a good tuning/repair experience... more
