The best coffee in Gainesville can only be found at Maude's alas it is not always a pleasant experience. The positives are that Maude's offers the traditional European style sidewalk cafe with fine coffees and delicious desserts (best brownies in Gainesville as well). The negatives are that some of the employees, notably the owner himself and multi-colored haired employees who are either of the Beatnik or the Neo-Skateboard subculture, are pretty rude and condescending towards any customer that is not part of their subculture of choice, but it's almost worth it for the good coffee.
