My impression has been that Kerner's doesn't make up elaborate repairs, to take advantage of the customer. Our vehicle needed a part that would cost hundreds from the manufacturer, and Kerner's found an affordable replacement (possibly from a junk yard, but this was already to repair a 12 year old vehicle).
