Editorial review from Citysearch 2/4/2014

As I set watching the morning news and see the Desert Springs Pools commercial with the owner, Lin Wippel it just makes my blood boil. I have never written an on line review but my experience with them was so awful I feel compelled to.\r \r Desert springs did a remodel of my pool to the tune of $18,000+ which included installation of a Pentair automation center and salt cell. From the second week after they were done the automation did not work correctly. The pumps would start up and shut down themselves randomly when they were not programed to do so. And the salt cell constantly blows fuses.\r \r When I contacted Desert Springs (Now this was within the first 2 week) they pawned me off on the manufacture, Pentair. Desert Springs just washed there hands of it and would not get involved!\r \r I tried several times to call Lin Wippel and he refused to call me back. His salesman did call me back but told me it was not there problem and I had to deal directly with Pentair. When I questioned him that this started after the second week after install and I purchased the system from Desert Springs he stated, ""they only do the install but don't warranty the Pentair product, it is done directly by the manufacture""\r \r After 6 months of emails back and forth to Pentair and 8 visits to my house by repair people (including a factory rep from Pentair) The system still does not work correctly.\r One of Pentair’s fixes they said need to be done was that the pump (which was a 2.5 year old Pentair Intellaflow) the electronics were bad and needed replace. \r \r The pump was 6 months out of warranty so I came out of my pocket with another $1000.00 to replace the pump. And guess what, that was not the problem. (And Pentair refused to take the new pump back or refund me my money) So on top of all the aggravation I am out another $1000.00\r \r To finally fix the problem they replaced the remote and it stopped the problem of the phantom pump start up when it was not programed to. The salt cell still blows fuses constantly and at this point I don’t use it anymore. The remote has a very short range, most of the times you have to stand close to the equipment for it to work.\r \r The remodel also included replacing the tile around the outside of the spa. It was done so poorly, the grout lines are wavy and they would not do anything about it.\r \r The plumbing repair they did in the wall of the spa is now leaking and seeping through the tile and I have yet to address that one.\r \r So the bottom line, they are great during the sales process but when it comes to service after the sale it’s “buyers beware”\r more
