I had to take my 87 year old grandma to Myakka River Animal Clinic to put her 14 year old cat Lucky to sleep. She adopted Lucky from this place and has been seen there for 14 years. My grandma was placed in a room to wait and after a while, she asked if she could just get it over with. I went to the lobby of the converted home/clinic and someone who I didn’t know came in the door and when I started to ask how much longer it would be, Dr. Dawn Spakowski interrupted me and told me in the rudest, tersest way possible that two patients are being seen at once, my grandma got here second and we’ll have to wait. My grandmother has had this appointment for a week and changed it from a checkup to euthanasia. Dr. Spakowki spoke to me as if this was an enormous inconvenience and she was disgusted I was even asking. I went back to sit with my grandmother.
