We purchased a new home out on Cape Cod. The painters that were hired by the builders did a substandard job painting the house. We hired Derrick's company, Schmidt Painting, to come and straighten it out and finish it. They did the job better than we expected. They absolutely exceeded any expectations. Derrick was great about being on time, had a supervisor on the job who was wonderful to work with, and was very attentive to the work we asked him to do. He was very diligent about making sure the work was done, using hard workers who worked all day long. We didn't see them take a lot of breaks, and they got right back to work after lunch. The estimate he gave me to do the job was almost right on the money, too.
Some of the siding had been taken down and put back up many times, so there were a lot of nail holes in it. He saw it and asked if we wanted the holes filled. I said I would like that done, and they ended up working so efficiently on filling it that the job did not cost much extra at all.
I was coming from out of state for this project, and Derrick worked with me on scheduling. He estimated how many days and was again on the money about that. He was really, really good to work with. I especially appreciate that he will give you an idea of how many fill-able hours the job will take. You can see where the project is going and watch it with a budget and time in mind. You have the ability to not get surprised by a bill or something at the end.
I really liked how Derrick did business in every way, and I would hire him again in a minute. I had called three other painters who either didn't show up, or had estimates MUCH higher than his. Derrick was the highest-rated painter on Angie's List, and he definitely lived up to it. I was very, very pleased.
