This summer we have had a problem with swarming carpenter ants in our family room, kitchen, and DR, LR also the screened porch. Jason with Bug Out came out and explained that there must be a nest somewhere and as soon as we can locate it and treat it this problem would be resolved. However, the nest could be as far away as 200 yds. Jason was at our home almost on a weekly basis because even though he treated every possible area of the property, it didn't help. We were so frustrated and disgusted. My husband and I would pick up dead and live ants everyday. Disgusting. Jason called on his supervisor Terry for his assistance in trying to determine what else they could do. Terry came by with Jason and they went through everything again. Treating and checking, checking and treating! Scratching their heads trying to locate the nest. Terry advised my husband to seal any open spaces around the brick fireplace and under cabinets etc. which he did.
Jason was at the house so much, I joked that I would have lunch ready for him upon his next visit.
After many many visits my husband told him about a bush by the driveway that he noticed some ants. So Jason went out and sprayed the bush, and found the nest. There were so many ants scurrying around after he sprayed. He came to the door with a big smile and said "I think we found the nest"! Yay!!!!
I want to say that between Jason and Terry, they brought out the big guns and were determined to get rid of these pests. They even gassed the chimney and around the porch.
My husband and I are very appreciative with the way Jason and Terry worked together to help us in our situation. Jason always came to the door with a big smile and he was always pleasant as was Terry.
I would add the girls that answer the phone and make the appointments made a concerted effort to accommodate us with a quick visit from the techs.
So far we have only had a very few dead carpenter ants, but we expected that. We are able to sit in our family room without them flying in my hair or on my ipad, eat in our kitchen with complete confidence and also sit and eat in our screened porch and enjoy our home again. I hope we don't have any more problems but I know to call Bug Out if I do.
