I went in for a stress test / echocardiogram. Yes, the services received met my expectations. What did not was the exorbitant charges for this simple outpatient test. In all the charges were about $3,000. Just another example of hospital corporations and executive officers using their handy ""chargemaster"" (yes - it's a real term - look it up) to take money out of the public's hands to stuff in their pockets. Medicare - which bases payments on actual costs plus profit and overhead - would have paid 10-15% of that amount. The rest is excessive profit. Sadly, Evergreen is not unique in this example of corporate greed.
