If you want to be helped at this store be sure to bring your husband or someone posing as him. OR you can bring in one or two younger males (15-25) and immediately upon entering they will receive a snotty ""CAN I HELP YOU ""GENTLEMEN""?\r

I don't know what this store's problem is. If I go in by myself I can't get anyone to help me. If I go in with my husband, they're all over us like stink on **** (he's even mentioned this). After being ignored several times, I've noticed this is their mode of operation. Apparently they think if you're in there with your husband you're going to make a big ticket purchase. I can attest to this because Barbara Goldkorn the store owner followed this process when I wanted to purchase a $7500 machine. Prior to that I couldn't get anyone to even talk to me.\r

Today I went in for the 3rd time to exchange the incorrect bobbins for my machine. After being ignored while waiting in line (had to tell them I was next, not the woman behind me) I got to make my exchange. During the transaction I asked if there was someone there who could help me with digitizing software and sergers. My request was ignored and the sales person went to the next person in line. \r

I went over to the sergers and stood around looking for someone to help me. Once again only couples were being helped. Even couples who came in after me were pounced on. After 15 minutes of being ignored I left and went over to SMM's outlet store on Burnet. There were a few folks in there, but I was greeted when I entered and spent the better part of an hour talking about digitizing with Susan and sergers with Danica. I ended up buying a $400 serger from Danica who was fantastic. Both Susan and Danica were friendly and knowledgeable and I was happy to buy from them as sales people but I'm not happy that SMM got another sale. I guess I'll go look at other sewing machine shops in the next few days before I open the box.\r

Not sure if The Goldkorn's monitor these reviews. Maybe they don't care as they're the exclusive dealer of several top sewing machine brands in the greater Austin area. They certainly act like they don't need my business and from the majority of the reviews here, they don't need yours either.\r
