I am an advocate for a patient that used the services of Superior Ambulance to be transported from a hospital to another facility aproximately 5 miles away. The bill was $4175.00. The incompetant staff billed the patient telling her that medicare declined it...the service had never been billed. I had them bill it and it was denied..the charge was very high. The family went the route of a claims appeal and Superior Amubulance was kept informed of every step taken and continuously stated that the account was ok. The patient has now received a bill, interest included, for the full amount. Superior is NOT waiting for the medicare appeal to be complete. I tried to reason with Lela at Superior Ambulance and all she stated was company policy is to send this account to collection. The customer service at Superior is inadequate. The rep is uneducated and uncaring. My advice to anyone needing the service of a private ambulance to use anyone other than Superior. They are incompetant, rude and they price gouge patienst during a very emotional time in their lives...when they are sick or injured. Superior is a huge black eye to the Emergency Medical industry!!!!
