Some jewelers like to hand-wave quite a bit, write down a few prices on a small scrap of paper, and you walk out with no idea what to expect for the final price or how to effectively make the cost tradeoffs to get what you want at a price you're willing to pay. Mike did a great job of explaining the product, the prices, and the tradeoffs and he said it enough times to remember. Another aspect of the experience is that there's no pretense, but it's also not a bargain shop. I get the feeling you could spend $1K or $50k here and enjoy the experience. On top of that, everyone is warm and friendly and has a good sense of humor, so it's just an overall enjoyable experience to stop in.
