We were extremely turned off by a Nestseeker broker while visiting the Arris lofts in LIC recently. My wife and I were exploring the buildings in LIC, and this was one we wanted to further look into. We walked in to speak to the door man and concierge about the building. After they gave us several brokers to contact for availability, a man came hurrying out the door to greet us. He apparently lives in the building and works for Nestseekers. We told him we were interested in looking at a studio or 1 bed for sale in the building. He seemed all excited and asked about our budget and when we'd be ready to buy. I said we'd probably be able to afford a studio now but we'd rather wait until we can afford a 1-bed. I simply said that I own my own business and expect a big contract to close by the end of the year, and when I said we'd be ready to purchase in the winter or Spring of 2013, his body language totally changed on us....as if we were exhibiting symptoms of an airborne disease. He literally jerked his head away and started to walk backwards....it was incredible! Made for reality TV, really. My wife and I were in total shock. I said, ""soooo, um, that's it?...you don't wish to talk to us anymore?"" and the man replied, ""I can't help you, you don't want to buy now"" and walked away. No biz card, no exchange of email or pitch about helping us when we're ready....nothing but pompous behavior and unprofessionalism. I used to be a commercial RE agent, and I would never have given up the opportunity for a lead, especially if that lead was to turn hot in less than a year. And I certainly would never have been rude about not wanting a potential lead. Nowadays with email, if you're not a hot lead, brokers still want to grab your email and spam you so someday when you are a hot lead, they are the first people you think of for help. Not my first time unpleasant experience with this brokerage either. Just look at the reviews out there... not good.
