Presently in the market for a used pickup. Visited multiple dealers and test drove a number of trucks on the weekend, this was the only dealer that seriously turned me off. Tried out a used '06 F-150 with reasonably low milage. The truck had a few issues that I discovered during a test drive - Broken Windshield, Pulling to the right, poor acceleration, several malfunctioning accessories, and a few other issues. I mentioned some of these problems to the salesman (Bill Schultz) and was assured that they - and any other issues - would of course be taken care of before sale. When I asked about having the vehicle taken to a 3rd party mechanic for an inspection, the salesman was quite reluctant - Said he'd have to clear it with a higher up first. He tried to tell me that any shop I'd take it to would just be in it to take my money and tell me about any possible problem I could ever have with the vehicle. And he assured me that the in-house mechanics had done a full inspection prior to putting the vehicle on the lot - Strange, considering the obvious and (mostly) easily fixed issues noted by me. Funny, every other dealer I went to had no issue with 3rd party inspections - Two actually encouraged it without me asking. Makes you wonder what Mountain Home has to hide. On the cracked and chipped windshield, the salesman said that their windshield contractor came by every 1-2 weeks. This truck, according to the carfax, had been on the lot for over a month. I have friends who have shopped here with similar results. The salesman seemed high pressure and shady. Really turned me off. Steer away. more
