After reading all of the negative comments I was to say the least, surprized. Of course, having dealt with Forest and Field in Norwalk any place is better. My experience with Hoffman's is the opposite in almost every way to the other posters. I have purchased a dozen or so guns from them both new and used. I have always found the staff to be helpful and knowledgable. I especially like Hoffman's ten bullets for ten bucks policy that has enabled me to test fire guns before I purchase, or in some cases didn't. The only issue is...they get crowded and busy especially on Saturdays, resuting in some long waits at the counter. If that's your hangup, I suggest going on a weekday or early Sunday morning. I have also done business with Newington Gun Exchange, and they too are excellent. They are smaller and more ""quaint"" if that's your bag. They are a little more high priced than Hoffman's and have nowhere near the selection, but will be happy to order anything you want. For my money, Hoffman's prices and service can't be beat. If you ever really have a problem with the staff, I suggest you go to the front counter and ask for Scott (the owner).
