Don't get scammed by Utopia. I have recently rented a house through Utopia management and my experience with them so far is horrible. First of all when I viewed my house it was completely dirty and the carpet was in its worst condition (black patches everywhere). I was repeatedly told by the management that the house will be cleaned properly before they hand it to me. I went ahead and signed the lease by taking their word and by the day I moved in, first thing I noticed was the horrible stench, filthy carpet, clogged toilet and window blinds covered with fungus. I called themanagement and they fixed only the clogging toilet since it was an emergency and for the filthy carpet I was told that I agreed to take the house as it is (which I never did) and they will not do the carpet cleaning. So I called the management6 days in a row and left 6 voice mails (btw, they never pick your calls) and I haven't heard from them till date. I went ahead and arranged a carpet cleaning service to do the job and paid more than hundred bucks from my pocket, even then the carpet is still dirty and beyond cleanable condition and I have to live with that for the rest of the lease term. Finally I read the rental agreement carefully and it was most ridiculously drafted agreement in such a way that you will never get back your security deposit and your rent will go up by 5% automatically at the end of lease term. I'm sure that all the 4-5 star ratings you find in Google reviews are written by the management and not by any real tenant. If you want to read more horror stories about them please visit Yelp and read them by yourself. Tl;dr - You may find nice houses managed byUtopia, but don't fall into their trap. more
