Swimming pool suite reservation for Mon Apr 15 2012
I receive a call from management about 1pm on Sunday that the swimming pool suite that I had booked was trashed the night before. Management proceeds to tell me that they can not get a crew in on Sunday to have the room fixed in time for me to check in Monday. After 1 hour of arguing on the phone with management, the manager decides to comp me a free room due to this inconvenience.
Driving down Black Horse Pike we passed trailer homes and run down properties. There was no attractions near the area. The casinos are a 10 min drive from this location. My girlfriend and I arrived at approximately 5pm, which is an hour and a half after check in. It looked as if we were the only car on the property. This place has absolutely no curb appeal. The non-paved gravel lot has pot holes strewn about. I am not impressed at all and neither was my girlfriend, I could see by the reaction on her face.
I exit my car walk past dead shrubs and weed infested flower boxes. I enter the dim lit lobby which is very comparable to a Asian fast food pickup restaurant. There were posters of Buddha and mini jade elephant statues in the lobby. There was only one person working behind the counter, he was the manager and of Arabic decent with a difficult to understand accent.
The manager hands me a contract and circles $0.00 total price of the room. After signing I am handed a photo copy map of the property and single card key for the room.
I am engulfed by a musty smell upon entering the room. I turn on all of the lights and open the curtains to get a good look around. After a one min inspection of the room I made up my mind that I was not staying here tonight.
Here is a short list of what I found in the room within a min.
1. Musky moldy smell
2. Poor lighting.
3. Cheap laminate counters in kitchenette and bathroom were bubbling and cracked.
4. Leaking shower head.
5. Dead switch that controlled no light/heater/outlet in room.
6. Peeling wall paper.
7. Drapes around bed were falling down and being held up with zip ties.
8. Curtains left a dust cloud when opening them.
9. Microwave was smaller than most TV dinners.
10. Black mold in all corners of the showers and between tiles.
11. Finger/hand prints on the mirrors.
12. Burnt out bulb.
This place was a mess. I never inspected the jacuzzi or looked at the sheets on the bed. I feared what insect or bacteria was making a home in the linens.
Stay away from this place. Stay far away. Serious risks to your health if you stay on this property. I had a free room and would not stay. Disgusting across the board.
I went back to the lobby tore up the contract and threw it on the floor after telling the manager he couldn't pay me to stay there.
