unprofessional, dishonest and doesn't care 4/3/2012

I was referred to him after i was diagnosed with aspergers and depression to figure out what medication i should take. He spent less than 15 minutes with me for the 1st meeting and less than 5 minutes every time i came in. He never had any idea what was going on yet was prescribing me medication. He put me on Cymbalta even though i said it was too expensive because my insurance didn't cover it and I'd rather try a generic brand or prozac. He said not to worry about the money and gave me a bunch of ""samples"". I asked if they were free and he said yes so i agreed. Then he billed me for those ""free"" samples and the ""time"" he spent with me... like 100's of dollars for that 5 minutes or less of time. But I didn't get these crazy bills until way after i had seen him so i kept going. I eventually asked to go back on prozac which i had taken before with no ill effects. But getting off Cymbalta was a nightmare. I couldn't even get out of bed for days. I almost lost my job. With prozac, he just prescribed it and then i never saw him again because that's around the time i started getting those bills for the cymbalta and earlier ""appointments"" and didn't want to be scammed out of anymore money. But he was contacted by the pharmacy every month for over 6 months to refill my prozac perscription... never actually contacting me and seeing how i was doing. I told this to doctors i saw for other things and they said it was incredibly unprofessional and just plain wrong for a doctor to be prescribing medication like that without checking in and seeing if its working or not. I would suggest seeing a professional who cares about your well being and wont try to scam you. Also.. these good reviews don't seem very genuine, I wouldn't take them seriously. Good luck on your search to find a great psychiatrist.. more
