I can't say enough good things about Northend Wrench. We've been taking our vehicles there for almost 20 years, and have told many friends to use them too. They have always fixed it right the first time, at a fair price.
But check this out: There have been times when, instead of doing work and charging me, they'll suggest an alternative that means no revenue for them, but in the end, saves me money.
Case in point was my latest appointment: Took my SUV in, on 4/16/2012, for a whining sound the engine was making. They felt it was likely a timing chain issue, but get this: they pulled up a service bulletin from the manufacturer, and encouraged me to go to a dealer and see if the work would be covered under warranty.
It was! I'm guessing it would've easily been $1,000+ out of my pocket otherwise.
