My original review is below. After posting this review (and the same review at another site), I got called by a 42nd street customer service representative who was very apologetic and wanted to know what he could do to make my experience right. He refunded the extra money I had to pay and threw in insurance for free and the lens filters as well. He thought the employee had had a bad day (it was actually several bad days). He definitely made up for a bad experience. I do wish there was some way to contact customer service instead of the original salesperson if you have a problem...
"" I ordered an expensive Nikon lens from 42 street for my college kid for Christmas. I had gotten the specifics of the lens from the kid. After ordering the lens, I got a call from ""Adam"" who said that I should buy a different lens that was on special and was a better lens and a better deal and they would also throw in a 3 year warranty. I explained that I knew nothing about cameras and that the child had been very specific about the lens. He said that for just a bit more money the other lens would be much better etc etc. I ended up buying the other lens at his suggestion. I later found out that the lens I had been talked into actually sold for LESS than the original lens I had ordered and that I had been talked into extra money for a lens that was of inferior quality and the extra money was going to un-needed lens filters and insurance. My daughter called to try to exchange the lens and told me the person was horrid and would not exchange aything. I called back and was routed to Adam who was extremely rude and would not let me talk with a manager. After multiple calls, I finally was able to skirt Adam. After extensive talk with an also unhelpful manager, I was able to get the original lens for a higher price than originally ordered. I would NEVER order from this business again. It was a nightmare...""
