The Best gift for my Christmas was brought to me and my family last Christmas by AAA Brothers Heating & Air-Conditioning service located in Huntingdon Valley PA. My heater stopped working around 5am this morning and I had my whole family (18 people) from out-of-town coming tonight at 7pm. After being hysterically unsuccessful calling HVAC guys out to diagnose and fix the problem, I was finally able to get one to at least pick up the phone. I explained to her how desperate I was but the answer from her was ""emergency rate of $150 an hour will apply and the system itself will cost $10,500 I thought she was joking but she wasn't! Talking about Christmas spirit! I thought I was about to have a heart attack. Called my ex-boss who also lives in the area for advise. He said ""call Alex at AAA Brothers Heating & Cooling. He's a nice guy, has been doing the heating and air-conditioning business in the area for many years and, I'm sure, will recommend what to do. He always helped me out."" So I called this guy Alex, told him what situation I am in and ... he turned out to be an absolute gentleman! Alex told me not to worry and took my address saying ""Your Family Holiday WILL NOT be ruined, I promise. I was so psychologically exhausted by that time that didn't even realize that I never asked him how much it will cost me (which money is a serious concern for me as I do have some credit cards but I've just been laid off by my company a month ago). He personally came out to my house and his technician pulled in just 3 minutes later. My heater was 13 years old, quite inefficient and rusty looking. I knew it needs to go soon but NOT ON CHRISTMAS EVE! Alex and his technician were trying to help me out and fix it but I told them if they could just tell me how much it would cost to replace it and they can do it NOW and I can afford it then I will do it. Alex gave me a price for the same one I was quoted by that other company earlier today except his price was $6,000 therefore $4,500 cheaper then the other company...!!! He also promised me they would have the whole house warm by 6pm. I looked at him like if he came down from the sky and said THANK YOU ALEX! I was so afraid they would not finish the job by the time everyone gets here but Alex was certain it will not be a problem... And it turned out he was right. Another technician came shortly to help and they were done by 6pm. In an hour my whole house was baking :) I want to say this: Sometimes it is not what people do for you that counts so much, it is how they do it. Alex and his men made no mentioning of the fact that their families were also waiting for them, that they were tired and also wanted to get ready for the Holiday, and committed to stay knowing what my predicament was. They really didn't have to but they did. This Christmas turned out to be an action movie for me but my pregnant wife and my whole family are warm and happy. I am going downstairs now as everyone is at the table. THANK YOU ALEX!!!
