When looking for apartments we ran across these. At that time management was friendly and helpful. The apartments look good, but it's cheap construction.
What can I tell you that you can't see for yourself? Well, the big four star to 1 star change has to do with the month to month I'm going to be hit with. If you sign a new lease it's about $100 increase this year. If you go month to month it's about $370 increase this year.
For me, that's a real sticking point. It speaks a lot about the integrity of a company that they think a 34% increase in rent form month to month is even okay. In other states that activity is illegal and I haven't researched utah's laws on this yet.
The management has been nice, issues have been dealt with, and rent is stupid expensive with a stupid increase but really you know that going in.
The big issue is that we're buying a house and either need to go month to month or move out into one of those rent by the week places. Considering that month to month charge I'm likely to do it.
So, the service has been decent, there are rules to follow and if you follow it's a non-issue. Really, you have to think if you want to move into an apartment complex that will trap you with insane month to month or $100 approx increases or force you to move because it's outside your budget. I can just imagine the poor soul with a tighter budget.
the five star commenter here is my wife and both our opinions changed with our rent renewal.
Good luck deciding, but if you can afford here, I really recommend looking at a house. I just wish mine would be built sooner.
